Sea turtles have inhabited the oceans for millions of years, but today, they face numerous threats that are driving their populations toward decline. The Indonesian Sea Turtle Foundation (YPI) is dedicated to protecting sea turtles and their habitats through conservation efforts that support their natural life cycle.
To safeguard nesting beaches, we deploy rangers in each conservation area to conduct regular patrols, protecting sea turtles from poaching and human disturbances. We also focus on relocating nests to safer locations, ensuring higher hatchling survival rates. When the hatchlings emerge, we assist them in safely reaching the ocean. Additionally, we conduct routine beach clean-ups to remove debris that could obstruct their journey.
Our efforts are made possible through collaboration with local communities and government authorities. We believe that working together strengthens sea turtle conservation and helps preserve their habitats across Indonesia.
